How to Get Along With Others

If you live with a roommate or boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, or other person, it can often be difficult to get along with them. At some point, the other person will do something or say something to get on your nerves. It is almost an inevitability! So, what can you do about it? First of all, realize that we are not meant to be exactly like each other. If that were the case, could you imagine how boring this world would be?!

Secondly, realize that because of the differences you and your loved ones may share that you will have to compromise. For example, my boyfriend and I live together in a small one-bedroom apartment. I am an excessive neat-freak and at first, he was not. However, before I agreed to allow him to move in, I made him well aware of this fact as well as my intolerance for slovinliness! As a result, he has almost completely shed his sloppy ways and has come to appreciate what a neat living space can mean. There are some small things here and there such as dishes being left in the sink or books being left out in piles on the desk, but I had to stop myself and ask, "Are these things really worth arguing over? Or am I just being petty by bringing them up?"

When you live with someone else, you really have to pick and choose your battles. You need to realize that that person is not an exact replica of you; they don't think exactly like you, therefore the same things that bother you may not be the same things that bother them. Give them credit where credit is due. Too often we are hard on others who may have done a thousand things right but messed up on one thing. We tend to focus on the one thing that they did wrong versus the other nine hundred and ninety-nine things that they did right. Now, is that fair? The best way to get along well with others is to sit down and talk about your feelings. I know this sounds cheesy, but if you sit down and really hash out what it is that is bothering you without offending the other person, then you will both be much better because of it. It is not appropriate to allow things to go on, all the while letting it bother you and build up inside until one day you finally snap at them.

Learn how to be an adult and present such issues as a way to voice your opinions on things. A lot of the time, the other person doesn't realize that they've even done something wrong and will be more than happy to address the issue. Similarly, if you work in an office environment and have a group presentation to give at an upcoming meeting, you need to collaborate and be able to work with other team members, expressing your ideas, concerns and opinions. Communication is such an important and necessary part of having successful relationships with any person you meet.

The reason I can explain the law of attraction in ten minutes is because it's simple to fully understand. You know it fully already. This will save you a lot of money if you're one of those people who think you can pay money and learn some secret-that no one else knows. I saw an ad the other day by a well known author and speaker, I think that's his name. The pitch is offering to get you working the law of attraction in thirty days. Of course it's not free. That's quite a deal...for the well known author and speaker. This would be like me making some incredible limited time offer to teach you the secret of swallowing your food.

As a matter of fact, the reason I haven't written this sooner is because I didn't think that I could write an entire page on it. Let's get it out of the way. Whatever you think about will start to show up in your life. Please make all donations payable to me. Thank you. Whenever I start a new endeavor I start thinking about what I need to make it work and how I can do it as efficiently as possible and guess what? I start to run in to what I need, the stuff shows up everywhere. I went to work driving pile when I was twenty. I started seeing cranes and cables and looking at the sides of buildings to see if they were plumb. Started meeting people that knew about piling and rigging. My life was jammed full of heavy equipment. If you notice a car that you think you're seeing for the first time you'll see twice as many from now on. Possibly starting within the hour. It's likely to happen before you stop thinking about the car you just saw, for the first time-ever. About the time you're wondering where to get one, or how much they cost, you'll open your door in a parking lot and hit one parked next to you.

The secret that we all need to learn is not the law of attraction. That's like saying I need to take a course in the law of gravity. What we need to get better at is paying attention. That too is about as easy as it gets. Stand on one leg. Too easy? I can feel you wanting more. Why? Do you want paying attention to be difficult? I'll give one more piece of advice that many thousands have paid through the nose for. Life isn't really very complicated. OK, life is so complicated that we can spend many life times learning about it. But, that falls under the life sciences category. My point is that where "our lives" are concerned, it's pretty simple. The reason we're in such a complicated mess is because people can take anything and make it into a complicated mess. Here's a simple rule. If you see people making a mess of things, go around them. If you happen to get put in charge of a mess, take the mess and dispose of it. Start over.

So now I guess we can start to have some fun with our understanding of the mysterious law of attraction. In order to begin recognizing it as it happens you will do well to write it down. You'll want a pad and pencil handy at all times. Pocket sized spiral pads are best when you are on the move. Whenever you notice the law at work jot it down. One minute you'll be wondering how anyone ever gets a tiger to jump through a flaming hoop and the next thing you know the answer will appear. Write it down. (hoop jumping tiger) The more you do it the more you'll notice it. The real benefit in this is that you'll increase your expectation quotient. When that starts to happen your life can become very different, very fast.

I think my time is about up. I'm not joking about standing on one leg. It's impossible to stand on one leg and not have and increased awareness. I guess, for this lesson, we should make the checks out to the heron.

The hardest part is always to take the first step and actually begin the road to success. Most of us are overcome by fear of failure and so you must get yourself to stop fearing and begin to succeed in your life.

Are you happy? What will it take for you to be truly happy? If you're like many people you're waiting for something to happen or someone to come into your life or something to change before you can be really happy and enjoy your life. Most people are constantly putting off really living their lives until things are just right, or until something happens.

Things like, if I could just be making more money, or if I could just lose weight, or if I could just get the job that I want, or the partner I want, or if my spouse would just be as I want him/her to be, then I'd be happy. The bad news is, you'll be waiting a long, long time. Before you know it, life will have passed you by and you'll be wondering what happened to your life. It wasn't supposed to be this way. Some of you may even be at that point now, wondering what happened to your life.

It's a trap many people fall into and once in, they find it difficult to know how to get out. There's no really easy answer to this of course, no one thing that you can do that will make everything perfect. But there are things that you can do to change things, to start being truly happy, and one of those things is gratitude.

Before you dismiss this as too simple, not transformative enough or just something you've heard before, stop for a moment and think about it. When you're constantly waiting for something to happen before you can really live your life and be happy, what you're saying is that you're not happy now. What you have is not good enough, you want something different. Example: "I don't like my body, but when I lose 50lbs then I'll like it, and then I can start doing the things I want to do." When we are constantly dissatisfied with what we have in life then the only thing that will happen is that we'll attract more situations into our life to be unhappy or dissatisfied with.

It's hard to think that something so deceptively simple as gratitude can have any impact at all, let alone profound change, but I assure you it can. Try it, what have you got to lose? Start now by thinking of what you can be grateful for. If you make a point of doing this every day, you'll not only start to appreciate yourself and your life more, I guarantee you that you'll start attracting more positive people and situations into your life.

I know that sometimes it's difficult to think of something to be grateful for. Don't worry if you're finding it difficult, just start. It's best if you can get a journal to write in, because then whenever you do struggle to think of something, writing in your journal can be a good reminder. This can be your gratitude journal. Is your life really so bad that you can't think of anything? You hate your job - what about the fact that you have a job. You don't have a job - what about the fact that you can walk, use your hands, have eyes to see, are able to work and look for work. You can be grateful that you got out of bed this morning. Grateful that you have a television to watch, hot water for your shower, food to eat.

Start being grateful for the people in your life, your family, your friends, your co-workers, the person who delivers your mail or picks up the trash.

Try looking at every situation that you feel frustrated or angry about and see what you can find to be grateful for. You're stuck in traffic - be grateful that you have a car, that you can listen to music or educational CD's in your car. Your computer's not working - be grateful that you have a computer and know how to use it. The electricity bill arrives and you don't have enough money to pay it - be grateful to the electric company for providing you with the electricity, be grateful for the money you do have.

When you start to do this, to think in this way and to actively look for things to be grateful for, you really will find that you start to feel better. It's so much better to think this way than to constantly be thinking about what you don't have or what you don't like. It changes your energy, it will help you feel calmer and less stressed, and then the wonderful thing is that you'll start to find that things do change for the better. Not because you're trying to make them happen out of dissatisfaction with the way things are, but because you're focusing on the abundance that you already have, which allows more to flow to you and you're in the perfect stat energetically to receive it.

Go ahead, try it See what a difference it can make to you. Just one more simple thing that can make a very big difference.

A coach should be full of integrity and well respected among his peers. It's hard to be coached by someone that you don't look up to or even consider to be a professional in the field.

Consistent A coach must be consistent with the strategies that he is teaching. You will see many coaches that jump from idea to idea because what they are doing hasn't worked for their clients. Ask your coach for references so that you can see if he has helped others implement strategies that have led to success.

Healthy Yes, that's right. A coach should lead a healthy, happy life. You shouldn't have to hear about how bad his day was or how much he doesn't get along with his wife. You want a coach that has a balanced lifestyle that enables him to help you with your obstacles and not concentrate on his own issues. These are just a few things to consider when looking for that right coach that will assist you in achieving your "Why" in life. I challenge you to set a goal of hiring a personal coach, but be sure to find the right one for you!

In my early teens when I started learning the law of attraction and universal laws, I felt guilty for getting such powerful knowledge that other people did not have. Then, at the same time my reasoning put it in perspective and told me it was obsoletely fair. The reason is fair is because I attracted this information to my life. I have been a risk taker and always wanted more out of life, just like many of you. Maybe you have been searching for the hot deal, the right promotion, the right business, the right partner, the right significant other, etc. I was there a few years ago. I would start reading positive books, attend seminars, attend the local chamber of commerce, read magazines of success, go to the rich neighborhoods to watch the homes, etc. It amazes me that was 12 years ago. I am now 27. Please understand I was focus and not lazy. Finally it all came together, all in your life comes as a result of your mindset.

Your mindset determines your future. You still need to have focus in your thinking and apply daily habits to get the things you want in life. If you want a raise from your job, then just focus on how much you want the raise to be and take the right actions in your respective field. I want to talk for a minute about having the right Mindset to make it financially. Speaking of finances, one of the most terrible mistakes anyone can make regarding their finances is focus of the lack of money. Specially right now that our country is going through a slow bump. Instead of focusing on the lack or how bad things are, focus on how great the opportunities are. The issue is not lack of opportunities, the issue is a poor mindset. Please understand success is something you attract by the person you become. You see your goal is just to change inside and the outside will reflect those changes. Now of course you have to discipline in making those changes. Let me tell you from personal experience is all worth it. I recommend reading quality books, listening to quality CD's, attend quality seminars and associate with empowering people. Following these recommendations will bring you a brighter and more fulfilling life.

The Winter Solstice months of December and January are the longest nights and the shortest days of the year. It is a time that nature draws within herself. Leaves fall, some animals hibernate, as do many trees in cold climates (and the sap runs again in the spring.)

It is a time of you naturally turning inward to inner peace and stillness - and also a time of festivities, parties and gatherings of friends and families. Find your balance between the two and spend quiet time now.

Dust off your imagination, and play with your own potential for the coming year. What is your Dream of the best life can be? Discover your own unique creative path to wealth and health.

Can you Imagine your past year - and life up to now - as a big garden? Try it. Pretend that all your habits, activities, work, play, hobbies, and relationships are flowers and vegetables growing in your life's "garden." Winter is the best time to clear some space for new growth in the Spring.

This time of year is quiet, and much now lies dormant. You can easily see the weeds of fear, judgment and blame that kept some plants (desires) from blossoming and bearing fruit last year. Some places the weeds overtook your best intentions, and your harvest was not what you'd hoped.

Imagine you can clear out the old "weed" habits of fear, anxiety and blame…set them aside, dried and withered, and burn them. Watch them go up in smoke. Now the ashes will make the soil richer - so dig everything up, turn the soil, see the rich earth fertile and ready to bring forth new life in the spring. The seeds of your future need a fresh place to grow, then bear fruit and a bountiful harvest in the coming year.

Take three steps and assure you have created the space for your New Year. To have something new - you must create the space for it - and do something new about achieving it. Use your power to Vision and Imagine as a good starting place.

Imagine the Winds of Change clearing away the old and opening up a way to bring in the new.

Step one: Cleanse.
Clean away and let go of all that is no longer of use, remove all that is interfering with you flowing easily in life. Make room - a fresh clean space to invite in all you Desire. Open up and release all that is outside your Vision.

  • Cleanse away old models and unconscious habits that conflict with your vision. All fears of loss, of not being good enough - fears of illness or poverty or aging.

  • Clean out fears (from ancestors and childhood) - of authority, of others, of evil (stopping or interfering with you) and of not being safe on your own or of working with others.

  • Fear of change, fear of failure or of a set-back, fear of taking risks, fear of humiliation or that someone will disapprove of your Dreams.

  • Fear you can't find your right place and your own inner-Vision. Fear you can't do it, can't make it on your own, that no one will help. Fear of not knowing the outcome, nothing is certain, most fail, what do you fear?

  • Clear away the old habit patterns that keep you ignorant of Inspiration and Opportunities. Old habits guarantee you will fail: Following others and authority, sticking to old ideas and models…compulsive responses to social triggers and remaining consistent to the past.

Step two: Renew.
What needs to be renewed, refreshed, remembered, and revitalized?

  • Renew your sense of yourself: Choose to move into the fresh, light feeling of love and appreciation for all life. Make a list of 20 talents and 10 things that make you happy. Recall your inner-Vision. Follow what feels good, a natural path from your heart to your Dream.

  • Renew your commitment to stop automatic responses and live Mindfully. Feel the weight of ignorance, of old models, falling away and with it the fear, anxiety and inertia that blocks the path to the life you want.

  • Align with your Dream of the good life - and feel the fun and Joy of living it NOW. Remember to feel appreciation - that "vibration and feeling" is out of the range of fear.

  • Seek out your Dream in your daily life and to enjoy the qualities of fun and playfulness you want to live, even in small ways.

  • Open to your New Year ahead.
    Open your body - to healing quickly, being vital and flexible.
    Open your mind to the knowing within and speak of love and joy.
    Open your heart to the love all around - share it and feel happiness.
    Open to Mindful Intentional living NOW- present, aware, secure.
    Open to be at-ONE with Source - the creative Life Force within you.
  • In the past it may not have been possible to have it all - but now it is. Anything you Desire and Focus on is available to you: Your potential is unlimited. Renew this expansive, happy feeling and live it. Look for it and you'll find it.

  • Love your Dream unconditionally. Renew your commitment to live your passion. Accept and approve of doing what pleases you most. Be free to create and explore the best life has to offer. Well-being is your birthright. Claim your rightful place as a Creator in life.

Step three: Purity.
Find the core essence of you - the place you're perfect. Your pure essence is you loving your Vision of your future.

  • Feel the purity of the Life Force flowing into creation. Enjoy it and flow with it - it's leading to everything you want.

  • Once the old habits fall away - you are free to explore more of whom you are and what you Desire. Feel the freshness, the lightness, and the purity of your intention to find and live loving, happy, easy, playful experiences - that Attracts more of your Vision.

  • Find your pure inner Vision. Take it with you to your holiday parties and gatherings. See the world from within the life you love. Everyone will enjoy you - and you will not be bothered by anything - those that are not in harmony will not be attracted to you.

Cleanse, Renew and find Purity: three steps to guarantee a successful future.

Do you feel a difference now - from when you started imagining? Your feelings open up possibilities. It really is that simple. It does take repetition and quiet time so you can hear your own Inspiration.

Spend time alone- get to know your self. Choose to be in Beauty and Nature - that refreshes and enlivens you. Stop all self-talk, be still and allow Inspiration to emerge - it is the easy way to make changes, and quiet time opens the door to your inner guidance.
